Designing a bold program brochure for social sector innovation

Impacto Consulting is a consultancy specialising in innovation for the social sector, working with organisations across aged care, disability, health, and not-for-profit services.

Their work focuses on helping organisations move from being traditional and reactive to becoming more innovative, person-centred, and impactful. Through their Innovate For Impact Program, Impacto equips leaders and teams with the tools, frameworks, and confidence to create meaningful change across their organisations.

In 2022, Spacey Studios was engaged to design a 20-page brochure for the Innovate For Impact Program, along with a program logo and supporting icon set. The goal was to create a bold, eye-catching and professional piece of collateral that could help Impacto present the program clearly to organisations considering bringing the team in for workshops, training, and capability-building support.

The Challenge

Impacto’s program offering was rich with information.

The brochure needed to explain who Impacto are, what problem they solve, how the program works, and why organisations should take action. It also needed to present detailed content around innovation, leadership, client centricity, collaboration, and organisational impact in a way that felt clear, confident, and easy to follow.

Because the audience included organisational leaders and decision-makers, the brochure had to feel professional and credible. But it also needed to stand out. Impacto’s work is energetic, practical, and change-focused, so the design needed to feel more dynamic than a traditional corporate capability document.

The challenge was to balance depth with visual clarity — turning a detailed program into a brochure that felt engaging, structured, and persuasive.

The Approach

Our approach focused on creating a strong visual system that could carry the brochure from start to finish.

We used bold typography, high-contrast layouts, strong pull quotes, photography, iconography, and Impacto’s bright cyan accent colour to create a brochure that felt active and memorable. The design needed to support the message of innovation and impact, while keeping the information easy to navigate across the full 20-page document.

A key part of the project was the Innovate For Impact Program identity. We designed a bold program logo that gave the offer its own visual presence, while still connecting back to Impacto Consulting’s broader brand. The mark was designed to feel energetic and action-oriented, with a directional arrow motif reinforcing movement, progress, and forward momentum.

We also created a supporting icon set for the four key program pillars: Mission Focused, Creative Leadership, Client Centricity & Collaboration, and Empowered People.

These icons helped structure the brochure and gave each area of the program a clearer visual identity.

Brochure Design

The final brochure was designed as a practical sales and engagement tool.

Across the 20 pages, the content introduces Impacto Consulting, outlines the challenges facing social sector organisations, explains the Innovate For Impact Program, and breaks down the core areas of capability building.

The document includes testimonials, organisation logos, self-assessment prompts, program frameworks, service explanations, team photography, and clear calls to action. This range of content required a flexible layout system that could shift between storytelling, education, proof points, and conversion.

Rather than relying on repetitive page layouts, we created a varied but consistent design system. Some pages use large photographic sections and bold statements to create impact, while others use structured diagrams, icon-led sections, and information blocks to explain the program in more detail.

This helped keep the brochure engaging while still making the content feel organised and accessible.

The Outcome

The final brochure gave Impacto Consulting a bold and professional piece of collateral to support conversations with organisations interested in innovation capability, cultural change, and client-centred practice.

The Innovate For Impact Program logo and icons gave the offer a stronger identity, while the brochure design helped package a detailed consulting program into something more visual, memorable, and easy to present.

The result was a document that feels energetic, purposeful, and aligned with Impacto’s mission to help organisations create a healthier, more inclusive, and fairer Australia.

Reflection

This project was a great example of how design can bring structure and energy to a complex service offering.

Impacto Consulting had a strong program with a clear purpose, but the information needed to be packaged in a way that felt easier to understand, more engaging, and more memorable for prospective clients.

What we enjoyed most was creating a visual system that could carry the program across the full brochure. The logo, icons, typography, photography, and bold colour accents all worked together to make the document feel more distinctive than a standard consulting brochure.

We were also proud of how the design helped make detailed content feel more approachable. The subject matter was strategic and organisational, but the final brochure still felt human, practical, and action-oriented.

For us, this project is a strong reminder that graphic design is not just about making information look better. It is about helping people understand value faster, connect with an idea more clearly, and feel confident taking the next step.
